The VIBE History of Hip Hop
|
"Mixed Cuts: How Remixes Compliment and Complicate."
|
Oct. 1999
I was approached by the (at the time) Editor-In-Chief
of Spin Magazine to contribute to their book
chronicling Hip Hop's 30 year plus history. As a
result, I wrote the chapter titled, "Mixed Cuts: How
Remixes Compliment and Complicate." In the book's
chapter I explored the concept of remixes and the way
they helped to increase a song's longevity. |

Tupac Shakur

"Stakes Is High"
| Oct. 1998
Description: After receiving such a huge response from
readers and the media, VIBE Magazine included my
"Stakes Is High" story in their first book. The Tupac
Shakur book ranked high on the New York Times
Bestsellers list for months. |

Slim Shady World
|
"Ask Dave" |
2000-2001
As a play on the typical advice column, I created a
voice to express the craziness of Eminem's alter ego
Slim Shady through his "best friend" Dave. The "Ask
Dave" column gave humorous bad advice to internet
hecklers who logged on to the site. |

Hookt.com Ad campaign
|
1999-2000
Just before the launch of hookt.com, I came up with
the
idea of bringing a Hip Hop coolness to the internet by
having an, iMac tagged up with graffiti. The owners
loved the idea and the ad ran in print magazines as
well as billboards in major advertising markets. |
